SEEING THE FOREST THROUGH THE "E'S" (AND ALL THE OTHER LETTERS A THRU Z)

Struggling to use "Sunny," I realized the fabric would be more compatible with my style if I were to focus on its unique background instead of its text components (the "E's"). Once I saw past the text, I saw something organic-- the green poofballs could be cut to mimic the appearance of pussy-willow buds! A botanical triptych came alive, using the Challenge fabrics for bark, leaf shading and background. The raw edge applique is complemented by freemotion echo quilting and a quilted "woodgrain frame." The quilt lives up to its title! We can really see the forest, without the "E's".
